Cadence Design Systems has bought UK analog EDA tool pioneer Pulsic for an undisclosed sum.
The headquarters of Bristol-based Puslic is now listed as the Cadence European HQ in Bracknell. A spokesperson confirmed the deal had gone through and said more details would be available in the next few weeks.
Pulsic was formed in 2000 with engineers from Zuken, who also have a tool design centre in Bristol. It focusses on the tricky challenge of analog layout, and has seen significant traction with memory chip designers as well as companies such as Silicon Labs.
A deal to buy the company last year was blocked by the UK government on security grounds when it emerged that the purchasing entity had links to the Chinese government.
