Qualified to AEC-Q200 the new X7R High Voltage Automotive MLCCs also exhibit low ESR, and use FLEXITERM terminations for enhanced mechanical reliability: use them in high voltage automotive electronics in both standard and hybrid electric vehicles, especially as snubbers, resonators, filters, and DC blocking caps in high voltage multipliers, high frequency power converters, and switch mode power supplies.

Rated for operating temperatures spanning -55°C to +125°C, the High Voltage Automotive MLCC Series is commercially available in six voltages: 630V, 1000V, 1500V, 2000V, 2500V, and 3000V and five chip sizes: 1206, 1210, 1808, 1812, 1825, and 2220; however, nonstandard chip sizes are available upon request. The series is also available with two RoHS-compliant termination options: plated Ni/Sn and FLEXITERM, the latter of which provides considerably enhanced resistance to mechanical stress by allowing for more than twice as much board flexure as standard terminations.

AVX’s High Voltage Automotive MLCC Series is compatible with SpiCap 3.0 SPICE modelling software, which can be downloaded at https://www.avx.com/SpiApps/default.asp – AEC-Q200 qualification data is available upon request.
