This is the challenge that BTicino, leader of the Legrand Group in Italy and specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, launches to young IT talent in collaboration with Logol, the Swiss pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence.

Designed to promote and support the development of AI-based applications, the first BTicino hackathon will be held on Wednesday March 4th at the Talent Garden campus in Milan, with the collaboration of Wired and Talent Garden.

The participants, divided into teams, will have a full day to create an artificial intelligence capable of communicating with the BTicino virtual assistant. Developed by Logol, the virtual assistant provides customers with all the information on the new connected Living Now product range.

The key to success of this challenge lies in the ability of the chatbots developed by the participants to analyze the answers and formulate meaningful questions that extract further information from their counterpart. The prize for the winning team, decreed by a jury composed of professionals from the sector, will be participation in the World Summit AI to be held in Amsterdam on October 7th and 8th, 2020.

“BTicino is innovative by nature,” says Luigi Caricato, External Communications Director of BTicino Group. “We were the first to believe in the smart home and now we are exploring the world of artificial intelligence. Launching this challenge will allow us to involve the best young talent in the sector and, at the same time, to improve our service towards customers.”

“More than just a branding and product launch event, this hackathon is part of Logol’s mission to support the dissemination of skills and know-how in the field of artificial intelligence,” says Marco Farina, Founder and CEO of Logol. “We want to contribute to steering the AI revolution in the right direction, and in order to do this, it is essential to invest in the knowledge of the new generations.”
