
One hundred million yuan is worth about US$15.7 million.
The company said the money would be used to consolidate X-Epic’s domestic position in verification software and support R&D for a next generation of EDA software tools.
X-Epic was established in March 2020 and has obtained six rounds of financing according to reports, all of which are worth hundreds of millions of yuan (see Chinese EDA hopeful raises $30 million).
In November 2020 X-Epic released simulation technology supporting domestic computing architectures and in November 2021 launched four products: HuaPro-P1, a FPGA prototype verification system; GalaxSim-1.0, a digital simulator, GalaxPSS, a verification system, and GalaxFV, a formal verification tool based on word-level modelling.
“As a local EDA supplier in China, one of our major advantages is that it is very close to this explosive market. We will promote R&D and build an ecosystem with customer demand as the guide and end in mind,” said Li-Bing Wang, founder, CEO and chairman of X-Epic, in a statement.
In December 2020 X-Epic attend the 58th Design Automation Conference in San Francisco, Calif., the first time it had attend a DAC.
