
Chinese chip firms partner for quantum computing R&D

The companies are Origin Quantum Computing Co. and Hefei Nexchip Semiconductor Corp. both of Hefei, in Anhui province of China.
Origin Quantum was founded in 2017 as a full stack quantum computing company and Nexchip was founded in 2015 as a joint venture between Powerchip Technologies Corp. of Taiwan and Hefei city authorities. Nexchip makes display driver ICs and PMICs.
The two will be the co-developers of A quantum computing chip facility in Hefei, according to to a Global Times report.
