Chip varistor targets Automotive Ethernet applications
Thanks to high-precision multilayer technology and an optimised manufacturing process and process design, the chip varistor achieves a tight tolerance of the capacitance of 4.7 ± 0.57 ㎊ and a high resistance to ESD voltages up to 25 ㎸. In addition, the product meets the performance required by the OPEN Alliance 100BASE-T1 ESD Device Specification ver.2.0 for ESD protection devices. The varistor is available in the industry’s smallest size 1005 (1.0 x 0.5 x 0.5 ㎣) for vehicles, supports a maximum circuit voltage of up to 70 V and has a wide operating temperature range of -55 ℃ to +150 ℃.
As ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and even more advanced autonomous driving systems require fast and low-delay communication between control units (ECU), Ethernet is used as communication infrastructure for automotive applications. The new varistor provides ESD protection for automotive equipment without compromising high-speed communication between ECUs. The new product not only supports the high-speed communication required for future automotive electronics, but also ensures better system reliability through high ESD resistance.
Mass production of the AVRH10C101KT4R7YA8 began in March 2022.
