
Clarios launches as global battery tech giant
Clarios has $8bn in revenues with more than 16,000 employees and 56 facilities worldwide and with produces a third of all the global automotive industry’s total yearly output of battery technology. Alongside lead acid batteries, it produces absorbent glass mat batteries and low voltage lithium ion cells and packs for both the automotive and energy storage markets.

Battery technology has become increasingly important with over a hundred electrified devices in today’s vehicles. With the growing shift toward more autonomous vehicles, advanced safety features will become even more critical, requiring a proven, reliable energy storage solution.
As Johnson Control Power Solutions, the company has pioneered a closed-loop collection system for batteries to recover materials. It will maintain its current global manufacturing and operations footprint, including its corporate headquarters in Glendale, Wisconsin. The European base is in Hannover, Germany.
