Collaboration helps seniors live independent lives
In what the company claims is a first for a health insurer, CZ will deploy the system in the homes of 3,000 senior citizens in the Netherlands. eHealth systems with whole-home sensor coverage makes it possible to reduce healthcare costs while providing seniors with a better quality of life. The global eHealth market could reach $308 billion by 2022 according to analysis by Grand View research, and the transition to digital healthcare for the management and analysis of patients could be the main driver.
The system being deployed is comprised of non-intrusive motion sensors and open/close sensors that are connected to a gateway. The solution combines cloud algorithms from Sensara with Qorvo’s Zigbee Green Power RF solutions. Zigbee Green Power is based around ultra-low-power technology that allow batteries to last up to ten years, and also provides secure, long range transmission.
