Common mode filters withstand high temperatures

Due to the increasing number of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), the need for cameras in this area is also growing. For example, front-facing cameras and cameras for omnidirectional monitors are equipped with common-mode filters for interference suppression. Since conventional multi-layer common mode filters only have a temperature range of -40 to +105 °C, they are unsuitable for ADAS cameras, which are mainly used in the automotive sector. TDK’s new series, on the other hand, uses patented material technology and a special structure to achieve an operating temperature range of -55 to +125 °C. The manufacturer cites high-speed interfaces such as USB2.0, LVDS and ADAS as the main areas of application.

Its rated current is 100 mA and the rated voltage is 5 V. The electrode, made of a conductive resin, prevents cracks in the product caused by thermal shocks and increases resistance to mechanical stress, e.g. forces acting on the PCB.

Mass production will start in September 2021.
