The project challenges element14 members to design a cost-effective project that comprises readily available components so it is easily replicable. The aim of the competition is to slow and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in communities around the world.

There are no specific requirements to participate. Potential solutions could include:

• Face protection

• Body temperature monitor/access controls

• Contactless disinfection of frequently touched surfaces

• Automated disease testing

The winner of the challenge will receive a $200 shopping from Farnell.com, a $200 donation to the winner’s chosen COVID-19 charitable cause and a Flir thermal imaging camera. 3 runners up will each receive $100 shopping carts to Farnell.com and a UV sanitising lamp. Individual and team entries are welcome.

The “Fighting Germs” Project 14 challenge is open until 15th June with winners announced by 29th June.
