Compact common-mode filters target differential automotive high-speed signal lines

TDK has developed the KCZ1210DH series of common-mode filters for automotive applications. This series provides noise suppression for automotive high-speed differential signal lines. At 1.25 x 1.0 x 0.5 mm³, the filters are extremely compact in design.

With the number of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), the need for cameras in this area is also increasing. For example, front cameras and cameras for all-round vision monitors are equipped with common-mode filters for interference suppression. It is expected that the requirements for the signal transmission rate will continue to increase so that large amounts of video signals can be processed.

The new TDK product supports high-speed signals with transmission rates of more than 10 Gbit/s. In addition, it contributes to noise suppression in the GHz band generated due to the increased speed. Supporting an operating temperature range of -55 ºC to +125 ºC and using a resin-based conductive electrode, cracks in the product due to thermal shock are prevented while resistance to mechanical stresses such as substrate stresses is increased.

The supplier sees main applications in high-speed interfaces such as HDMI1.4/ 2.0 (3.4 Gbps / 6 Gbps), LVDS/MIPI D- PHY(4.5 Gbps), USB3.0 / 3.1 Gen1 (5 Gbps), USB3.1 Gen2 (10 Gbps), Next Gen Interface(10 Gbps~) and video signal processing for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in general.
