Compact transformer for ultrasonic applications, in distribution
The compact B78416A series transformer from TDK Epcos with EP 6 core is used for impedance matching between the driver IC and ultrasonic transmitter/receiver. This makes it ideal for use in applications such as parking aids, industrial robots, drones, logistics robots, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and level measurement systems.
The series comprises five types with transmission ratios from 1:1:8.42 to 1:1:15. Depending on the type, the transformer in SMD design delivers inductance values between 3 mH and 5 mH and is suitable for frequencies from 52 kHz to 300 kHz.
The component is AEC-Q200 compliant and very compact with dimensions of 9.0 x 7.6 x 7.1 mm³. In addition, the series is magnetically shielded for better interference suppression. It operates without problems at an ambient temperature of -40 °C to +125 °C.
