The two-port network analyzer delivers fast and accurate measurements, not least thanks to its S-parameter wizard. The instrument performs bidirectional measurements of the S-parameters S11, S21, S12 and S22. A GPIB interface is optionally available for remote control. The network analyzer is available in two versions with frequency ranges from 1 MHz to 3 GHz (R & S ZNLE3) or up to 6 GHz (R & S ZNLE6).

The analyzer offers an exceptionally high performance, claims Rohde & Schwarz. It offers a wide dynamic range of typically 120 dB and a measuring bandwidth of 1 Hz to 500 kHz. For a measurement over 200 MHz, the R & S ZNLE requires just 9.6 ms at 201 measurement points, 100 kHz measurement bandwidth and TOSM / SOLT two-port calibration. The low curve noise of typically 0.001 dB ensures stable, reproducible measurements.

The large 10.1″ WXGA touch-screen displays all the curves clearly and visibly. Multi-touch gestures can be used to zoom in on measurement curves The clearly structured user interface allows access to any function with a minimum number of operating steps. Undo / redo softkeys enable users to undo and redo operations. Context menus for all functions and parameters facilitate interactive work.

Like other members of the R&S ZNx product family. the ZNLE is equipped with a calibration wizard that guides the user through the calibration process. Automatic calibration units can also be used. And this is not enough: The “Start Auto Cal” function starts an automatic calibration at the push of a button.
