The passively cooled Matrix 2 incorporates Horizon’s automotive-grade AI processor, the Horizon Journey 2. The system also supports operation in a wide range of environmental conditions. The computer platform uses field-tested algorithms to provide accurate visual perception in applications ranging from driver assistance systems to fully autonomous robotic taxis, shuttles, trucks, and delivery vehicles.

Each Horizon Matrix 2 system supports up to 4 real-time, high-resolution video streams from the environment. A proprietary matrix solution of 12 cameras (8 limited field of view cameras and 4 fisheye cameras) is used, providing 360-degree views of the environment.

Horizon Matrix 2 can be configured to fit a variety of applications and operating driving environments (ODD). With the associated recognition software, up to 23 classes are supported for pixel-level semantic decomposition, comprehensive 2D/3D object recognition, and classification into classes of different vehicle types, pedestrians, cyclists, traffic lights and road signs. In addition, challenging scenarios that do not occur so frequently but are nevertheless important, such as construction sites, are also supported.
