Continental and Iveco jointly offer tachograph data management
Commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco is expanding its fleet management services to include Continental’s Fleet TIS-Web solution. The software facilitates the management of tachograph data and supports fleet managers with meaningful analyses to optimise their operations. Iveco customers have direct access to the tachograph data from TIS-Web via API.
By integrating the functionalities and driver data from Continental’s TIS-Web fleet management software into Iveco’s fleet management services, the two mobility companies offer fleet managers the opportunity to comply with all legal requirements of the new EU mobility package. Initially, Iveco is actively offering TIS-Web integration to all Italian, German and Spanish customers, with plans to roll out the service across Europe later.
TIS-Web enables the storage, retrieval and analysis of data from smart tachographs. Fleet managers who need to monitor their drivers and vehicles can thus not only archive the corresponding data according to the legal requirements in Europe. They can also access statistics on all drivers and truck activities, and use various reports to optimise driving styles and efficiently organise drivers’ daily tasks. Users can check compliance with regulations on driving times, rest periods and permitted speeds with one click and get information on violations at a glance. In addition, the solution can also take into account local and national regulations, so that fleet managers are only shown the information that is relevant to their company or the countries in which they operate. As a cloud-based service, TIS-Web also offers fleet managers location-independent access, for example via the TIS-Web smartphone app. Customers who have not yet subscribed to TIS-Web services themselves can thus access Iveco’s fleet management services without additional hardware.
Both the competitive industry environment and increasing regulatory requirements are forcing European fleet managers to increase efficiency. Continental, as a long-standing Iveco partner, offers the necessary technology and data solutions to achieve this. “We are pleased that together with our long-standing partner Iveco we can contribute to enabling customers to increase efficiency in fleet management,” explains Dragan Kostevski, Sales Director for OEM and Mobility Projects in the Connected Commercial Vehicle Fleet Solutions business segment at Continental. Fabrizio Conicella, Global Head of Digital & Adv Technologies at Iveco, adds: “Continental’s TIS web application is a perfect complement to our fleet management services and offers real added value to fleet managers, especially in the area of compliance. I am pleased that we can now offer our customers this additional service with seamless integration between Continental’s and Iveco’s platforms along with our own services.”
