Coronavirus hits SEMI exhibitions in Korea, China
SEMI put out a notice just before Semicon Korea wad due to open stating that the organization would not host the event because the World Health Organization had declared Novel Coronavirus (2019 nCoV) as a global health emergency. Semicon Korea was due to take place February 5 to 7 in Seoul, South Korea.
SEMI said it was exploring the possibility of staging Semicon Korea later in 2020. It added that it would continue to evaluate the threat posed by Coronavirus at other scheduled exhibitions and conferences and would make decisions whether to go ahead on a case-by-case basis.
Meanwhile that decision has been take for Semicon/FPD China.
In a separate announcement SEMI said it had taken the decision to postpone Semicon/FPD China 2020 and related events originally scheduled for March 18 to 20, 2020. This was in line with the Chinese government’s guidelines and to protect the health and safety of exhibitors and guests, SEMI said.
