The new i.MX8 X CPU family features three pin-compatible CPU variants with variations in graphics performance and the number of cores. The CPU-integrated Cortex-M4 processor supports a range of real-time functions, combining performance with low energy use.

The TQMa8Xx and TQMa8XxS modules are intended for a broad range of applications, including medical devices, HMIs, industrial controllers, IIoT gateways, building automation, transport and robotics. The modules have up to 64 GB of eMMC flash and options for up to 256 MB QSPI NOR flash.

The TQMa8Xx module measures only 55 x 44 mm and allows direct access to all interfaces on the module. It features DDR3L memory with ECC support. When the ECC function is implemented, the module can be certified for safety-critical applications. A pin-compatible variant is also available with support for LPDDR4-SDRAM.

The TQMa8XxS module measures 82 x 50 mm and complies with both the SMARC 2.0 and SMARC 2.1 standards.

TQ-Embedded is a long-standing NXP Gold Partner with early access to the latest i.MX8 X core architectures for the development of new module concepts. The company’s experience with NXP products allows it to support customers with designs.
