This high accuracy is essential for precise time keeping, as required by eMeters, lighting, and other industrial or outdoor applications. The 3.2×2.5×1.0mm device includes a crystal, a DTCXO, and counters to keep track of time and date. It also includes automatic battery backup and time-keeping functions such as alarms and timers. With a supply voltage of 1.6 to 5.5V, the unit only draws 0.35μA typical, it has a clock output of 1 Hz, 1024 Hz, or 32.768 kHz.
