
Cypress bid to acquire Atmel has expired

Atmel, a fabless vendor of microcontroller ICs, is set to be acquired y Dialog Semiconductor plc (Reading, England) in a cash-and-stock deal announced Sept. 20 (see Dialog set to acquire Atmel for $4.6 billion).
Dialog is a fabless chip company that sells chips for mixed-signal, RF, power control functions in smartphones and mobile consumer equipment.
