DC/DC converter shrunk to minimum dimensions
Instead of using individual adjacent integrated circuits (ICs) and individual inductors (Ls), TDK’s FS series integrates the IC and inductor in a compact configuration that provides a high-density solution for space-constrained applications that require a low profile voltage source. Measuring 3.3 x 3.3 x 1.5 mm3 , it reduces the number of external components required and ensures maximum performance, while its simplified design facilitates integration. This product family provides a high power density of 1 watt/mm3 and takes up 50% less space than other products in its class. This significantly reduces system solution costs, assembly, board dimensions, board and material costs. The converter can be operated in a wide temperature range from -40 °C to 125 °C. It is suited for a wide range of applications. Series production of type FS1406 is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2019.
This product family is approved for use in industrial applications, lead-free and meets ROHS requirements.
