DeepX moves AI chips into video analytics, intelligent security
AI startup DeepX Co. Ltd. (Seongnam, South Korea) has said it will expand its product line to include processors focused on the intelligent video analytics and security system markets.
The company said the move has come as a result of alliances with global physical security companies and physical security device OEM/ODMs. Security system makers are ready to adopt AI but issues over latency, communication and privacy meant that using cloud-based AI was often not acceptable.
What is required is intelligent video analysis functions in real-time using on-device AI semiconductors.
DeepX said that its DX-M1 neural processing unit (NPU), implemented in 5nm manufacturing process, supports real-time AI computation processing of more than 30 frames per second (FPS) for more than 16 channels of multi-channel video on a single chip. It also offers a broad range of AI model support from YOLOv5 up to YOLOv9 vision transformer models.
