Design electronic systems for EMC, part 1 of 3
SciTech Publishing recently released a new handbook by William G. Duff called Designing Electronic Systems for EMC. The handbook aims to address considerations for designing circuits, equipment and systems for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in the presence of electromagnetic interference (EMI). This topic continues to grow in importance around the world, as spectrum becomes more crowded and EMI is having economic impact.
Here’s an overview of the Table of Contents:
Chapter 1: Introduction to Electronic System Design for EMC. Covers such topics as effects and source of EMI, modes of coupling, susceptible equipment, and design considerations vs system life cycle.
Chapter 2: Basic Terms and Definitions
Chapter 3: Communication Systems EMC
Chapter 4: Electronics System Design for EMC
Chapter 5: Grounding for the Control of EMI
Chapter 6: Shielding Theory, Materials, and Protection Techniques
Chapter 7: Bonding
Chapter 8: Filters, Ferrites, Isolators, and Transient Suppressors
Chapter 9: Cables and Connectors
Chapter 10: EMI Control Techniques
We are fortunate to have an excerpt of the book, which contains Chapter 5. This excerpt will be published in three parts over the next few days. Click on the link below to download a PDF.
