Dialog confirms takeover talks with Renesas
The bid, an all cash offer of €67.50 per Dialog share, would value the mixed-signal, RF and power chip company at about $6 billion and would represent a 20 percent premium over Dialog’s closing price on Friday.
Dialog supplies Apple with chips but also has strong links to Renesas (see Dialog’s makes customizable PMICs for Renesas).
By making its statement Dialog has triggered a UK takeover protocol that requires Renesas to make a firm bid by March 7, 2021 or announce it does not intend to make an offer for Dialog, although that deadline can be extended.
Dialog said there is no certainty that a firm offer will be made for the company.
