Distributor branches out with its own central battery system
Norco designed, developed and manufactures the N-Core Central Battery System to provide power for escape lighting, fire suppression and alarm systems should the mains incoming power supply fail. The system combines a battery monitor with its N-Pulse AC and DC chargers and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
The switch-mode power supply rectifier modules are hot swappable so that they can be replaced without taking the system offline. The inverter is also modular and all components are housed in a standard 19″ rack mount cabinet.
“It’s a massive step-up from service provider to equipment manufacturer, and it’s taken years of effort by our R&D department to get us to this point,” said John Roy, UPS Director at Norco. “There’s no re-badging of bought-in equipment – all of these systems are 100% Norco and bespoke, built to each client’s individual needs.”
The system is Kite-marked for BSI EN50171 and meets IEC 62040-1-2008.
