Distributor hosts ‘Bluetooth Low Energy’ workshops across Europe
The Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technical workshops will be run jointly with Cypress Semiconductor in February, March and April at various European venues.
At the workshops, design engineers will have the opportunity to implement a sensor system with BLE connectivity based on Cypress’s PSoC 4 BLE programmable system-on-chip.
At each workshop, a Cypress expert will guide engineers through the creation of an example design implemented on the Cypress BLE Pioneer development kit (part number CY8CKIT-042-BLE). Using the PSoC Creator design software on a laptop (each attendee should bring their own laptop), the designer will by the end of the workshop have configured a complete sensor system-on-chip capable of connecting to the internet via a wireless BLE link.
Every engineer attending a workshop will keep the BLE Pioneer development kit, provided free by Future Electronics. There is no charge for attendance.
As well as providing hands-on tuition with the Pioneer kit, the workshop will explain the operation of BLE technology. Engineers will learn about:
• the constraints and challenges involved in developing low-power sensor-based systems for the Internet of Things
• the key elements of the BLE protocol stack
• the architecture of the PSoC 4 BLE protocol stack
• the operation of Cypress’s PSoC 4 BLE. Based on the ARM Cortex®-M0 core, the PSoC 4 BLE offers a flexible platform for the development of high-performance analogue and sensing systems
• methods for integrating capacitive touch-sensing functions and BLE connectivity quickly and easily with the PSoC 4 BLE
