The acquisition of Premier Farnell by Avnet is now complete. In a recent presentation, senior executives from Avnet declared their intention to have the Premier Farnell / element14 operation continue to run as it does now; that is serving the development/early stage part of the product life cycle. Avnet says that this complements its own presence in serving the transition to production, and the full-production phases of product manufacture. Avnet aspires to linking the two business models and being able to track and serve customer’s projects seamlessly from concept through to production.
