DMOS FET transistor arrays integrate 1.5A sink-output driver
The new series succeed the TD62064A and TD62308A series of bipolar transistor arrays that found wide use in applications including motors, relays and LED drives. The new TBD62xxxA series transistor arrays are available in the same package and pin configurations and provide the same functionality as the older TD62xxxA series, while cutting power losses by about 38%.
This reduction in power loss could only be achieved through the adoption of the DMOS FET output drivers as they do not require a base current, can accept high current density per device area, and therefore keep on-resistance low and ensure high efficiency.
The new series’ are equipped with four channels of 50V/1.5A rated output, making them suitable for driving constant voltage unipolar stepping motors. They are manufactured using the latest 130nm BiCD process technology and are available in either HSOP16, DIP16 and SSOP24 packages.
