This makes the devices fit for Dolby’s latest cinema audio surround processing technology to be implemented in AVR systems for the home theater market.

Dolby Atmos delivers captivating, multidimensional sound that places and moves specific sound anywhere in the room, including overhead, to bring entertainment alive all around the audience.

Since its introduction in the cinema in 2012, Dolby Atmos has been embraced by all the major Hollywood studios. SHARC processors featuring Dolby Atmos decoding are now available for early adopters of Dolby-licensed home theater systems and will be broadly available soon. ADI’s Dolby Atmos implementation is supported by the Melody AVR 5 development platform and SDK.
