Dome lens SMD-LEDs offer high-intensity output solutions
The dome lens packages, which include 0603 (KPTD-1608), 1206 (KPTD-3216), PLCC (KPED-3528) among others, provide narrow viewing angles of 15° to 30° thereby giving a more focused and brighter output that eliminates any issue with light bleed. The devices are available in single colours of red, green, yellow, orange and blue, as well as bi-colour versions. Suitable indicator applications include network devices, consumer electronics, medical equipment, automotive lighting (interior and exterior), hand-held products for icon/text indications and backlighting applications.
The Kingbright 0603 (KPTD-1608), is a SMT LED device measuring 1.6 mm x 0.8 mm x 0.95 mm thick with low power consumption, ideal for backlight and indicator applications. Various colours and lens types are available, including green, which is manufactured with AIGalnP on GaAs substrate Light Emitting Diode. Qualified to moisture sensitivity level 3, it is RoHS compliant and supplied packaged (2000 pieces per reel).
Kingbright KPTBD-3216 parts measure 3.2 mm x 1.6 mm x 1.8 mm thick and are available in various colours including green or super bright yellow and various lens types. Low power consumption means they suit both backlight and indicator applications. Viewing angle is 30°. for water clear lens type in green or super bright yellow. They are recommended for reflow soldering only.
Available in various colours and lens types, Kingbright KPBD-3224 SMD chips measure 3.2 mm x 2.4 mm x 2.44 mm thick and are also suitable for backlight and indicator applications. Hyper red and green are both made with AlGalnP on GaAs substrate Light Emitting Diode. The water clear lenses give a 20° viewing angle. The devices can operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
A larger size 3.5 mm x 2.8 mm SMD Chip LED lamp, Kingbright KPED-3528CGCK is available in green only for backlighting applications. Electrical characteristics include power dissipation of 75 mW, DC forward current of 30 mA, peak forward current at 1/10 duty cycle, 0.1ms pulse width of 150 mA and 5 V reverse voltage. Suitable for all SMT assembly and solder processes, it is qualified to moisture sensitivity level 3, is RoHS compliant and supplied on tape and reel (500 pcs/reel).
