Dongle protects software against reverse engineering
Through its USB 3.1 interface with Type A connector, the device allows fast data exchange between the flash memory and the computer. The CodeMeter kryptographic and security functionality is contained in an Infineon SLM97 smart card chip. The U9 Flash controller from Hyperstone along with the patented hymap firmware meet the most stringent industrial requirements in terms of robustness, reliability, and protection against loss of data during power failures during the write process. There is an optional encrypted storage partition on which data or machine settings can be read and written after successful authentication using the CodeMeter API.
A special feature of the new CmStick / CM is the use of SiP technology (System in Package). The SiP technology is characterized by the fact that various integrated circuits and components are integrated in a housing, thus optimizing cost, performance and miniaturization. This state-of-the-art technology provides a seamless connection between the USB connector and the metal housing, protecting the hardware against bending, vibrations, moisture and temperature shocks.
