Dual H-bridge driver for piezo actuators

Nisshinbo Micro Devices has developed a dual channel H-bridge driver with a boost converter to drive piezo actuators for camera modules and haptic devices.
The ND1130 is built in a BiCMOS process to provide up to 40 V from a single-cell Li-ion battery or 5 V power supply with a high switching frequency range of 380 kHz to 1 MHz.
With a switching current of 1.5 A and PWM control, the H-bridge driver supports operating voltages from 7 V to 35 V and I/O signal frequencies up to 300 kHz. Protection includes overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown, under-voltage lockout, and a fault indicator output.
The ND1130 minimizes PCB space usage and is available in an chip-scale WLCSP-30-ZA1 package measuring 2.32 × 2.37 mm typ., with a maximum thickness of 0.6 mm for camera modules with small piezo actuators for controlling autofocus (AF), optical image stabilization (OIS) and zoom as well as miniature projectors, haptic feedback systems.
For rapid prototyping and development, evaluation boards featuring the H-bridge device are available, ensuring seamless integration into your projects. A comprehensive circuit diagram and additional information simplify the design process.
