Dutch antenna company dives into the 450MHz band
Dutch wireless system designer the Antenna Company has joined the 450 MHz Global Alliance and is supporting the development of 450 MHz smart utility and smart meter IoT applications. Designs at 450MHz have a longer range than the unlicensed bands at 868MHz and 2.4GHz, but need larger antennas. This means the antenna design is a critical pieced of the system design for low power, long range operation.
The 450MHz Alliance is the only industry organization representing the interests of the 450 MHz ecosystem and its stakeholders. Its activities enable its members to reach their commercial objectives in most efficient manner through various programs and initiatives.
“Our membership in the 450 MHz Alliance underscores our belief in the importance of the 450 MHz spectrum. In the next thirty days, we will launch multiple new multiband antennas to support this growing ecosystem and enable future proof deployment of 450 MHz enabled IoT applications,” David Favreau, CEO at The Antenna Company in Eindhoven
