
Dutch microfluidics firm buys German MEMS foundry
The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed. iX-factory will continue as the German subsidiary of Micronit under the name of Micronit GmbH. Both companies are specialized in the development and manufacturing of microfluidic and MEMS components.
Ronny van’t Oever, CEO of Micronit Microfluidics, said that iX- factory provides the enlarged company with twin manufacturing capabilities and brings capabilities in deep reactive ion etching (DRIE) of silicon and glass allowing the fabrication of high aspect ratio structures for MEMS and microfluidics applications.
