Secure Early Bird Tickets now for the Elektor Conference on PQC!
Early registration pays off: Secure your ticket for the online conference ‘Post-Quantum Cryptography’ on 3 December 2025 at the early bird price of only €229 – valid until 17 November 2025!
On Wednesday, 3 December 2025 (from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. CEST), Elektor Academy Pro is hosting a full-day online conference on the relevance of post-quantum cryptography for embedded and (I)IoT systems. Cryptography and security experts will report on the latest trends, best practices and innovative PQC implementations for embedded and (I)IoT systems. The event is aimed at security and cryptography specialists, PQC strategists and scientists with an interest in practical implementations.
Why Post-Quantum Cryptography Now?
It is unclear when post-quantum computers capable of cracking traditional cryptographic algorithms such as RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) or ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) will become available. Whether it takes 5, 10, 15 or more years, when that day comes, companies and their security experts must be prepared for what is known as Q Day. This is particularly relevant for companies in the embedded and IoT sectors, whose components are often designed for a long service life. This is because there is a risk of attacks based on the principle of ‘harvest now, decrypt later’, in which encrypted data is intercepted now and decrypted later with the help of quantum functions.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) launched a call for the development of new algorithms that can defend against attacks by quantum computers back in 2017. The first three official NIST standards for post-quantum cryptography were published in August 2024 and are the first official algorithms that are resistant to attacks by quantum computers. This summer, an EU working group published a ‘coordinated roadmap for the transition to post-quantum cryptography’ with recommendations that member states must implement for a synchronised transition to PQC. Similar efforts are also underway in other regions.
What to Expect from the Online Conference
The PQC conference delivers a compact yet comprehensive learning experience, combining six practical, 45-minute presentations with 15-minute Q&A opportunities.
Among other things, in the presentations attendees will:
- experience the status quo of the latest PQC standardisation efforts and how these can be implemented in real projects
- post-quantum security in embedded storage: secure elements and supply chain protection
- learn more about the hurdles of crypto agility and the opportunities in transitioning to PQC
- learn how the PQC changeover can be driven forward technically and on time based on the EU ECCG recommendation
- get insights about crypto-agility in automotive real-time systems in context of post-quantum cryptography
- Post-Quantum Cryptography in eMRTDs: Evaluating PAKE and PKI for Travel Documents
Why Should You Register now?
After each presentation, participants can join a live Q&A session with the speaker and connect with fellow engineers in moderated video breakout rooms. All talks will be recorded and available on demand, along with supplementary materials. A certificate of participation will also provided.
Currently, the Early Bird ticket costs €229, but from 17 November, a Regular ticket will be €289. Gold or Green members of Elektor, to which eeNews Europe belongs, will receive an additional discount so that they only have to pay €149 for a ticket.
Those interested can find further information on the conference website.
