EB corbos, the product line’s name, consists of three separate products. The software’s most important functions focus on fail-safe (fail-operational) systems for the highest levels of functional safety and support the networking of vehicles as well as over-the-air updates (OTA) – both indispensable features of future ECUs in the automobile.

“We are pleased about Elektrobit’s commitment to Adaptive Autosar,” explains Marcel Wille, Autosar project manager at Volkswagen AG. “EB’s continued commitment to this area helps us to introduce key technologies for future E/E architectures and quickly integrate new features.”

High-performance ECUs with multi-core processors are the central building block for the electronics architecture of future vehicles. This architecture is much more complex and is also more centralized than today’s car’s architecture. In order to enable highly automated and networked driving, vehicle manufacturers are combining the capacities of up to 100 individual ECUs in a single hardware architecture with only five to ten high-performance computers in the center. To achieve this, manufacturers need new software solutions that allow them to exploit the potential of powerful multi-core processors. EB corbos contains three products that facilitate this development for manufacturers and suppliers. In addition, it enables the reuse of software components, which reduces the development effort.

EB’s new tool suite includes the following software solutions:

  • EB corbos AdaptiveCore is the basic software for Adaptive Autosar. The solution is ISO 26262-compliant up to level ASIL-D and forms the technological basis for safe, flexible and powerful ECUs.
  • EB corbos Hypervisor is a hypervisor suitable for automotive applications that supports different operating systems. Thanks to its ISO 26262 certification up to the ASIL-D level, it guarantees the highest level of functional and information security.
  • EB corbos Linux is a POSIX-compliant operating system for ECUs that is suitable for automotive applications and is especially suitable for CPU-intensive functions. It is based on the Linux kernel and can be used in security-critical systems.
