Edge solution for visual inspection and observation
The new edge solution uses a combination of Advantech’s edge computing technology and BrainMatter’s platform for intelligent automation based on AI. The combination of the two technologies lets BrainMatter perform automated tasks on IoT devices suitable for industrial environments.
The partnership between the two companies allows edge packages to be used in the Cloud, on-premise and on the edge. It is possible to develop these packages on the BrainMatter platform. The platform is designed to allow domain experts to transfer their knowledge to the platform based on examples. The knowledge transfer allows the BrainMatter platform to learn skills and perform reality checks against a given standard or objective.
Advantech’s edge technology allows the IoT devices to execute BrainMatter’s automation models in near real-time because the data is being processed nearer to the device, which, in turn, reduces network latency. Locally processed data also reduces the sensitive data traffic, ensures customer security and saves energy.
