Electronic connectors feature one-touch locking
Kyocera has developed a new family of electronic connectors for flat ribbon cables (FFC – Flat Flexible Cable) and flexible printed circuit boards (FPC – Flexible Printed Circuit). As a special feature, the connectors lock automatically as soon as the cables are fully inserted. This offers decisive advantages, especially in automated production and robot assembly processes. With their heat resistance up to 125°C, the FFC / FPC connectors of the 6810 series are ideal for production in the automotive, industrial and consumer electronics industries. The connectors are now available worldwide.
The trend towards automated production has led to an increased demand for new components suitable for robot assembly. Conventional connectors, which require manual insertion and locking, are out of the question for such environments. In contrast, the one-touch 6810 series connectors automatically lock fast and stable as soon as the mechanical connection is established. For high-speed quality assurance, they also support automated optical inspection (AOI) and thus help increasing productivity in electronics manufacturing.
The new Kyocera 6810 series connectors are available in two configurations: a straight version that is mounted perpendicular to the board for vertical insertion, and a right-angle version mounted in parallel to the horizontal insertion board.
The connectors are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free. They are now available worldwide.
