Elmos, supplier of analog/mixed-signal semiconductors for automotive sensor and control solutions, and technology and development service provider Intellias have agreed on a strategic partnership for the development of automotive software. Elmos is thus able to offer more comprehensive hardware-software solutions and thus move further up the automotive food chain.

According to the agreement, Intellias will support Elmos with software engineering expertise to develop innovative software solutions for lighting, range, and optical sensors used in modern vehicles.

In addition to software development, the partnership is expected to bring further benefits to Elmos. Intellias will support the chipmaker in implementing and optimizing processes, methods, and tools (PMT) that guarantee a more efficient workflow, higher quality of software products, and strict control of project implementation. This support will enable Elmos to offer OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers more comprehensive solutions that ensure higher efficiency and safety in critical vehicle functions. The knowledge exchange between Elmos and Intellias has already begun and provides a strong foundation for Elmos’ Area 21 Software Division.

“We are excited to work with Intellias and combine our semiconductors with their software expertise to deliver outstanding products to our customers. Our partnership with Intellias is a significant step for Elmos. By combining our strengths, we are now better positioned to deliver forward-looking automotive innovations,” said Dr. Marco Krips, VP Software Development and Architecture at Elmos Semiconductor SE and Managing Director of Area 21 Software GmbH.

“Elmos is a leader in innovative automotive semiconductor solutions and we are very excited to collaborate with them to bring greater value to global Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs. By working together, we can offer both our expertise in software engineering and optimized processes to help Elmos deliver innovative semiconductor solutions with additional software to the automotive industry,” added Oleksandr Odukha, VP of Delivery, Mobility at Intellias.
