EM software Sonnet Suites V15 adds capabilities, control and saves time
In this latest release, Sonnet extends the capability of Internal Co-Calibrated Ports and Components by giving users the ability to fully de-embed terminals on different metal levels. This allows designers to apply Co-Calibrated Ports and Components in tight, multilayer layouts where vertically stacked Co-Calibrated Ports or Components are required. Typical applications include port connections for transistor devices or MIM/MOM capacitors.
RF engineers using the Cadence Virtuoso platform are provided with an extensive redesign to streamline the process of obtaining EM results. A new dialog box containing the most frequently used features and settings allows designers to save time and effort. The intuitive format mimics your design process, allowing for complete translation and model results with just a few mouse clicks. To streamline the process even more, setting presets are provided for the most common design elements.
V15 gives the designer intuitive control of the translation process, with a new design of the GDSII, DXF and Gerber translator graphical user interfaces (GUIs). Newly added features, including circuit placement, box size and cell size controls will make it easier than ever before to bring designs into the Sonnet environment.
This release is also providing users with many time-saving features, including improvements to allow effortless drawing and editing of diagonal polygons, the ability to quickly modify objects by dragging edges or vertices, easily set analysis box size, add a feed line with just one click, and precisely select objects with the new object highlighting feature.
