Embedded solution for fast communication via EtherCAT
With the embedded solution Unigate IC2 EtherCAT, data can be processed at high speed and quickly transferred to the customer’s application. The UART interface reaches baud rates of up to 7.5 MBaud. The SPI bus allows a transfer rate of 12 Mbit/s in master mode and 10 Mbit/s in slave mode. The All-in-One bus node also supports CoE (CANopen-over-EtherCAT).
The protocol connection between the Unigate IC2 module and the terminal device is established via a proprietary script, which is created in the script language developed by the supplier himself. The free Protocol Developer Tool is available for programming the script. The processing time of a script line is about 10 µs. With the embedded series Unigate IC2, the processing time of the scripts is thus about 50 to 80 faster than with the predecessor models of the proven Unigate IC series from Deutschmann Automation. Simple scripts can be processed in a few microseconds.
