Compliant with the latest SATA III (6.0 Gb/sec) interface specification, these drives deliver leading edge performance and reliability in the most demanding industrial, network and communication and automotive sectors. X-60m drives are fully compliant with the JEDEC MO-300A Standard (50.8 x 29.85 x 3.5 mm) and are suited for embedded applications needing high performance, non-volatile SSD storage in a compact, removable form-factor.

Sequential read/write speeds are up to 525MB/sec and 450MB/sec, respectively. Industrial applications with a need for random read/write performance see a data rate up to 75,000 IOPS for transfer sizes of 4 kB and queue depths of 32.

The X-60m is designed for industrial, network and communication, and other applications that place higher demands on embedded storage drives in terms of operating environments. They are qualified to deliver reliable operation over both Commercial (0°C to +70°C) and Industrial (-40°C to +85°C) temperature ranges. The X-60m supports a maximum shock / vibration rating of 2000G / 20G as per MIL-STD810 and is rated at over 2,000,000 hours MTBF.

A range of hardware and firmware based features maximise performance, reliability and endurance over the drive lifetime. Sophisticated wear levelling and bad-block management techniques ensure that flash blocks are used sparingly and equally in order to prolong drive lifetime. Intelligent power failure protection and recovery mechanisms guard against data corruption in the event of an unexpected power loss. Enhanced drive lifetime monitoring features enable users to access detailed drive lifetime statistics and assist in mitigating a potential failure, avoiding unexpected data loss and system downtime. Swissbit’s Data Care Management firmware suite includes Adaptive Read Refresh, Background Media Scan, Dynamic Bad Block Remapping, and Write Amplification Reduction. For applications requiring higher levels of security and data protection, AES-256 encryption support can be provided.

“The X-60m Series SSDs leverage the latest generation SATA controller and NAND Flash technology to deliver class-leading performance levels,” said Grady Lambert, Business Unit Manager for Swissbit’s Embedded Storage Product Line.

X-60m customer samples in 30 GB, 60 GB, 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB capacities are available in July 2015, with mass production availability starting in August. 8 GB and 16 GB capacities will be available in the latter part of Q3 2015.
