The PAN9320 device is a standalone 2.4GHz Wi-Fi module that supports the IEEE 802.11 b/g/n standards designed for applications where a small form factor and high throughput data rates are required. It provides a cost-effective, power-efficient solution for WLAN applications, and combines a high-performance CPU, high-sensitivity (-98 dBm) wireless radio, baseband processor, media access controller, encryption unit, boot ROM with patching capability, internal SRAM and in-system 1 MByte programmable flash memory. The module’s integrated memory is available to the application to store web content such as HTML pages or image data.

The PAN9320 module includes a coincident support for access and infrastructure modes, enabling use in smart devices and home network routers simultaneously. The module’s WLAN system-on-chip (SoC) firmware enables client (STA), micro access point (µAP), and Wi-Fi direct mode applications, while its transparent mode allows the module to send unmodified data through the UART interface to the air interface of smart devices, web servers, or PC applications.

Mouser is also supplying the Panasonic PAN9320 Experimenter Kit, which integrates the PAN9320 full embedded Wi-Fi module and 32-bit microcontroller. The Kit can help wireless designers quickly add WLAN support to imaging platforms, asset-monitoring applications, industrial controls, medical devices, and smart energy accessories.
