embOS-Safe is certified to SIL 3 for safety-critical applications
The new certification makes it simpler for developers to use the RTOS in safety-critical solutions for medical, automotive, aviation and home appliance applications.
EmbOS-Safe contains all of embOS’ important features, such as multi-tasking, communication and synchronization services, and memory protection. EmbOS-safe comes with a certification kit that includes all the necessary documents including the OS safety manual to simplify the design-in process. The new safety solution is assisted in the development of safety-critical applications by SEGGER’s IDE Embedded Studio, emUSB communication stacks, the emFile file system and the emWin graphics package, as well as the J-Link debug probes and Flasher production tools.
IEC 61508 is the standard for functional safety and is referenced in multiple derived standards. embOS certifications according to other standards, including ISO 26262 for automotive devices, to be completed easily.
