Emerson streamlines embedded software test for HIL
Emerson has launched NI LabVIEW+ Suite for HIL, a powerful new software test suite designed to address the growing needs of engineers developing and testing embedded software.
Specifically for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) applications, LabVIEW+ Suite for HIL brings together test, validation and data analysis tools in a unified platform to streamline workflows and accelerate time-to-market.
The software suite provides engineers with essential tools to simulate complex conditions that would otherwise be difficult to replicate. The open, software-defined, intelligent testing approach employs modular hardware to adapt swiftly to new challenges. The software suite facilitates the reuse of modular components and runs on the NI Switch Load and Signal Conditioning hardware for edge case detection across testing systems. Engineers can easily upgrade their systems as new technologies arise and customise software models to accommodate ever-changing requirements.
As product designers move functionality from electromechanical systems to embedded software, there is an increasing need for thorough testing through a continuous integration process. The HIL strategy offers substantial savings in time and resources whilst improving product reliability across the automotive, aerospace, and electronics sectors.
Streamlining workflows and future-proofing designs against the evolving complexity of next-generation products, the software suite includes essential development tools such as NI VeriStand, NI LabVIEW, NI LabVIEW Real-Time, and NI LabVIEW FPGA, all of which have been available in previous bundles. It also introduces two newly launched software products with enhanced native integration capabilities: NI TestStand, which facilitates the automation of complex test systems to meet the growing demand for efficient and scalable testing, and NI DIAdem, which enables advanced post-process data review and analysis, ensuring that engineers can make informed decisions swiftly.
“This suite delivers the most comprehensive software stack available on the market for HIL engineers” said Rudy Sengupta, vice president and general manager of test and analytics software at Emerson’s test and measurement business. “Using the NI LabVIEW+ Suite for HIL, users can achieve greater test coverage, reduce development time, and lower costs – all while ensuring the flexibility to adapt to future testing requirements.”
