Enhanced NFC experiences for iOS 13 platform
The Core NFC Framework allows reading and writing to and from a diverse range of NFC tags, including ISO/IEC 15693type-5 tags. The full standard command set is supported, as well as the extended ISO/IEC 15693 set. Custom commands are also supported to permit interaction with embedded electronics through dynamic tags that can store changeable information.
ST’s range of chips for NFC tags include the ST25T series for type-5- tags and the ST25DV series for type-5 long-range (ISO/IEC 15693) dynamic tags. These tags provide custom instructions and TruST25 digital signature. The ecosystem to support the tags includes the ST25 SDK software development kit, ST25DV-DISCOVERY evaluation kit, X-NUCLEO-NFC04A1 STM32 Nucleo Expansion board, ST25 (Mobile) NFC tap application, and soon-to-be-updated ST25 NFC tap iOS application for development on iOS 13 devices.
To help the creation of new apps for iOS 13 devices, ST has made source code available for the ST25 NFC tap application and published a guide.
