Entry-level Arduino packs more processing punch
Rev2 is functionally the same as the Arduino Uno Rev3 but includes built-in WiFi and an onboard IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) sensor. The board uses the Uno’s 68.6 x 53.4mm form-factor and is based around Microchip’s new ATmega4809 8-bit processor with 6KB SRAM and 256 bytes of EEPROM.
The board’s wireless communications module comes with an integrated TCP/IP protocol stack for access to WiFi networks and can act as an Internet access point. The WiFi connection is secured via a new ECC608 crypto-chip accelerator.
The Uno board has 14 digital input/output pins, six of which can be set up as PWM outputs, and six analogue inputs. The board includes a 16MHz ceramic resonator, USB connection, an ICSP header, power jack and reset button. Uno also supports OTA programming.
