In terms of application fields within the cars, the company is focussing on the areas driver’s cab, exterior and the motor periphery of buses, construction equipment, trucks, tractors, towing vehicles, etc. For these applications, ERNI offers its extensive know-how in press-fit technology, in PCB assembly and as an EMS service provider to ensure reliable connections also at high currents.

The products within the scope of BLUEcontact Solutions use the proven ERNI press-fit technology for the following applications: High-current range (central electrical systems, security systems, etc.), hybrid applications and wherever lots of power is connected into the PCB and transmitted (power boards). The flexible press-fit zone from ERNI with 0.8 mm metal thickness offers ideal conditions for the automotive sector.

The BLUEcontact PowerElements with a combined flexible and massive press-fit zone are available in variants for M5, M6, M8 and M10. They can transmit currents of up to 290 A per PowerElement (at 20 °C) and operate in the temperature range from -40°C to +135°C

The BLUEcontact PowerElements with a purely massive press-fit zone are available in the versions M3, M4, M5, M6, M8 and M10. The current carrying capacity is specified here with 10 A per pin (6 to 36). These also operate in a temperature range from -40°C to +135°C. Various versions of the PowerElements are available with a massive press-fit zone: With male thread and full pin population, with female thread and full pin population, with female thread and two rows pin population, with female thread and circular pin population; angled with thread and full pin population, angled without thread and full pin population, angled with thread and two rows pin population in addition to angled without thread and two rows pin population.
