eSOL CEO steps down on 50th anniversary
The CEO of Japanese real time software developer eSol is to step down at the end of March after 20 years.
Katsutoshi Hasegawa is set to be replaced by CTO Masaki Gondo, who will keep that role.
“Recognizing that the company’s fiftieth anniversary represents a major milestone, for some time he has been preparing the company for the next generation and is now looking to ensure its continued growth and the further enhancement of corporate value under new management,” said the company.
The decision is to be discussed and formally ratified at the annual meeting of shareholders to be held on March 28, 2025, and at the Board of Directors meeting to be held after the closure of the shareholders’ meeting.
eSol, founded in 1975, provides full stack embedded software based on its eMCOS real-time operating system (RTOS) developed using eSOL’s patented multikernel technology. These products extend from the platform, OS, and application layers to toolchains and processes. eSOL is also actively engaged in AUTOSAR, Autoware, and multi/many-core technology standardization activities.
Hasegawa will remain with the company as a Director and Senior Advisor to ensure effective governance at the company while also supporting the new president.
Gondo started his career at eSOL as a development engineer for the company’s OS products, going on to become one of the few system architects in Japan through his work with AUTOSAR automotive software. He was also part of the development of key products such as the core technologies of eT-Kernel and eMCOS.
