Espressif’s wireless SoCs and modules to be sold globally by Mouser
Espressif provides a series of innovative products that provide cheap wireless connectivity. Based on a low-power 32-bit Tensilica MCU, Espressif’s ESP8266EX, ESP8285, and ESP8089 Wi-Fi SoCs are highly integrated, packing antenna switches, a power amplifier and components onto a 5×5 mm QFN package. The SoCs have system level power management and a wide range of connectivity options, with SPI, SDIO 2.0, and UART interfaces. The ESP8266EX and ESP8089 SoCs also have I2C, I2S, PWM, and GPIO interfaces.
Espresso’s ESP32 SoCs offer both 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. These ultra-low-power ICs are powered by two Xtensa LX6 CPUs and include radio and antenna switching circuits. The ESP32-DOWDQ6 and ESP32-DOWD has 520 Kbytes SRAM, 448 Kbytes ROM and 16 Kbytes SRAM in RTC. The ESP32-D2WD has the same specifications as the ESP32-D0W, but adds 2 Mbyte on-chip Flash.
Mouser will also sell Espressif’s modules, which include two pre-certified WiFi modules, the ESP-WROOM-02 and ESP-WROOM-S2, which are based around the company’s ESP8266EX SoC and the ESP-WROOM-32 and ESP32-WROVER Wi-Fi and BLE modules, which are based on the ESP32-D0WDQ6 SoC.
The Espressif products are supported by a range of development boards that will also be available from Mouser.
