European Prize for Women Innovators opens

The European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology have opened a prize competition for women innovators.

The  European Prize for Women Innovators aims to inspire girls and women everywhere and to demonstrate the importance of inclusivity in technology and business.

Applications for the 2025 edition of the Prize are now open until 25 September at 16.00 BST. 

The EIC Women Innovators category is open to women founders and co-founders from the EU and Associated Countries, including the United Kingdom. Three prizes of €100 000, €70 000 and €50 000 are awarded to the three highest-ranked applications.

Three winners for the ST wireless innovation competition

The EIC Rising Innovators category is aimed at promising innovators under the age of 35. Three prizes of €50 000, €30 000 and €20 000 are awarded to the three highest-ranked applications.

The EIT Women Leadership category is focused on women with a direct link to the EIT Community.  Three prizes of €50 000, €30 000 and €20 000 are awarded to the three highest-ranked applications.

With the UK’s association to Horizon Europe, the prize is open to UK-based women innovators.

Previous winners include Natalia Tomiyama, Managing Director and Co-Founder of NÜWIEL in Germany which develops e-trailers that can match the movement of the pedestrian or biker pulling it as well as Elena García Armada, CEO and Co-Founder of Marsi Bionics in Spain which develops paediatric exoskeletons and robotic knees and Sara Correyero Plaza, CEO and Co-Founder of IENAI SPACE in Spain which develops electric propulsion modules for nanosatellites together with mission optimisation.
